I love snow days because they are quiet.
Everything stops. The noise fades. The hustle and bustle takes a break.
My dad is a Christmas tree farmer in Sparta, NC. (Just in case you don’t know, North Carolina is the second largest producer of Christmas trees in the US – only second to Oregon.) The farm is usually a noisy place with sounds of chain saws, tractors, and animals. But snow makes things quiet, even the farm.
I woke up Sunday morning to a blistering -15 Degrees and 20-30 mph wind gusts, but like I do many days, I had the urge to make some photographs to document what I feeling at the time. So, I took to off to the barn with my Canon 6D, Mamiya 645AF, and Canon AE1 in hand. The below images are the outcome of my stroll in the cold.
