Where are you located?
We are based out of Charlotte, NC. We are available for national and international travel.
How many weddings do you do a year?
We only take on between 12-15 weddings a year. We do this so we can be focused on our clients. We prefer quality over quantity.
We are not the typical “we meet you on your wedding day” kind of photographers. We’d like to think that we care as much about your wedding day as you do. We meet with you before your wedding to schedule and plan out your photography schedule, coach you on what will make great photographs, work with you so your comfortable in front of our cameras, and make ourselves generally available to share our years of wedding experience with you as needed.
How are you different than other wedding photographers in your area?
Outside of our unique photography style, we like to pride ourselves in our customer service. Like I mentioned above, we care about your wedding day as much as you do! We’re not afraid to fend off hordes of wedding guests to get that magic shot. We’re not afraid to try something new and venture into new territory. But most of all, we are there to tell your story, not ours. We go the extra mile to make sure our photography is customized to your unique story and personality.
We don’t just show up on your wedding day without already having a plan. By the time your wedding day comes, we’ve met, shared wedding stories, organized your details, and gotten to know each other well. When we arrive on your wedding day, we know you and your personalities; we know your senses of humor and know what’s needed to make you really shine on camera.
Our process is the real key to how we get our captivating imagery.
What are your strengths as photographers?
We both have very extensive professional backgrounds working with people. We’d like to think that we can tell what makes people tick. Specifically, we are good at helping our clients feel comfortable in front of our cameras. We realize that being in front of the camera can be a vulnerable experience (sometimes just awkward), so we do whatever it takes to make you feel safe (Consider us a judgement free zone…lol). We are there to help you through the vulnerability so we can capture the real you!
You’ll see lots of smiles, laughter, and emotion in our photographs. We do this by design! We structure our photo sessions to be relaxed, carefree, and fun. We want the space to be a collaborative space where you can be honest and our cameras can get to know you a bit. A lot of our clients tell us their session feels like a fun double date with friends.
What is your shooting style?
Chris is a no holds bar camera shooter. He’s typically getting right up in the action grabbing shots of people in the moment. He’s not afraid to do what it takes to get the shot. Chris is passionate about capturing emotion, creating beautiful portraits, and getting those dynamic action shots.
Rachel is the sneaky one. You’ll most likely see her (or not see her) hiding in the bushes getting the shot when no one knows she’s even there. She is also passionate about capturing all the pretty little details of a wedding (flowers, rings, shoes, etc…), so she spends a lot of time with her macro lens.
What is your editing style?
Even though we primarily shoot digital, that “film look” is what we are going for. We edit our work with a custom workflow to create images that have that iconic “film look.” Our goal is to emulate real film stock that is used by fellow professionals today.
Our favorite images are Black and White. So, you’ll notice a lot of B&W duplicates in your wedding collection. Our color tend to be bold and dynamic.
To put it simply, we would describe our editing style as: elegant, classy, and fresh.
Can I have the RAW files?
It breaks our hearts to say no, but sadly we must. We do this because not every image is a keeper. Even as professionals we get some not so flattering shots. But hear us when we say that “we aren’t holding out on you!” If an image is usable and of good quality, then we edit it an it goes in your photo collection. Over the years we’ve developed a rather successful image capturing process. We’re good at getting those special moments that are both planned and spontaneous.
With that said, we realize that some moments are just nice to have (i.e. those awkward fun moments before your make-up is complete, or the goofy things that happen towards the end of the reception). Even if the shot wouldn’t really be a portfolio piece, if the moment is just special, it goes in your photo collection.
How long does it take to receive my images?
During busy seasons, portrait sessions are usually completed between 4-6 weeks and weddings between 8-10 weeks. If we finish sooner, we’ll definitely get them out quicker.
Every photographer is different in their editing process, so you may notice that someone is quicker or slower to deliver that us. We like to tell people that the real magic happens in the post processing. We edit our own work, we don’t “batch edit,” and we retouch almost every image. Because quality is our aim, we only release the images when we are satisfied that they are truly ready to be enjoyed.

How do I receive my images?
Standard with every package is an online collection of images. You’ll receive the photo collection link via email as soon as your photos are completed. We guarantee that the images will remain on the site for at least 1 year.
What is your booking policy?
All bookings are on a first come first serve basis. We also require both a signed contract and retainer (aka deposit) in order to secure a wedding date. Click Here to read more about the steps after booking us.
Note: The deposit is a percentage of your overall total, not an extra fee.
Can I give you a shot list?
We do not ask for shot lists because during our years of capturing weddings, we’ve noticed that shot lists are more counter productive than really useful. As photographers, we really shine when we are able to capture moments as they happen instead of being focused on a specific shot list. But don’t worry, we know to get the kiss and all those other special moments.
We will however talk extensively with your about your wedding day before so that we are prepared for those little things that are unique to your story.
Can I share my images on Facebook?
Yes! Please do! It’s not required, but we would appreciate a shout out.
