It’s About Time! | Chris + Rachel Photography

Chris approached me about year ago with the idea that we should become Chris + Rachel Photography. I’d say that to most people that may sound like a simple name change, but to me, that was probably the biggest honor I could get from someone I consider my partner in every sense of the word....

We LOVE to see how couples incorporate their families and history into their wedding day details so Elizabeth + Andrew’s Covenant Presbyterian Church + Charlotte Country Club wedding was really sweet to see unfold.  Elizabeth + Andrew were married on a beautiful fall day in the heart of Charlotte at the church both of their...

With Hurricane Florence barreling down on the east coast and projections placing the remnants of the storm to arrive on Hannah + Matt’s wedding day, we had all been watching the weather, making back-up plans, and praying everyone involved would arrive and depart safely! Despite the circumstances of the day and logistics of travel for all involved, this wedding was one of our favorites of all time, and I’m 100% sure it was due to Hannah + Matt and all the family and friends they surrounded themselves with.

I can’t say enough just how much we love Matt + Hannah. We’d already met and spent time with them prior to their wedding so we knew they were already some of the nicest, friendliest people, but seeing them under pressure and how they treated each other and everyone around them further showed what incredible people they are. Whenever we’d ask Matt what he wanted to do about a scenario with weather, he’d always defer to making sure Hannah got to enjoy the day the most. And whenever we’d go to Hannah with the same question, she would just take it with such grace and calm. We could tell with these two that their relationship was the most important thing that day which was absolutely one of the most beautiful things to witness, and capture with our cameras.

All of that being said, I think if you look at the photos below, you won’t notice weather. What you’re going to see is a beautiful day, expertly orchestrated by Shannon with Bespoken Weddings, carried out by very dedicated, friendly vendors, and attended by fun friends and family. A huge, huge thank you to the vendors listed below. We enjoyed working with you and hope we can do it again– minus the hurricane!

When we first met Julia + Garrett, we knew their wedding would be special. One of the first things Julia told us was how much they loved color and that it would be everywhere on their wedding day. One of the biggest trends right now in weddings is actually pastels and neutral color schemes which we love, but Julia + Garrett have shown us just how incredibly beautiful splashes of color can be on a wedding day. From the hand painted cake (done by Julia’s mom!) to Julia’s Gucci shoes to the stunning bridal bouquet, this wedding was truly a work of art. We loved being part of it and can’t wait for you to see the images we captured!

Courtney + Aaron are married! Beyond being a beautiful day, this was truly one of the sweetest celebrations we’ve been a part of.  Aaron + Courtney are two of the most caring, genuine people, and it’s easy to see that their friends and family share those characteristics as well.  From the speeches to the first look with Courtney’s dad, we were tearing up right there along with everyone else.  These two just radiate joy, and I’m pretty sure you’ll see that in the photos below. There’s even a (very) messy cheers shot from the reception that is a once-in-a-lifetime catch.  It was a great day, and we wish Courtney + Aaron all the best!

Emily + Nick are married! We love all the weddings we get to be part of, but this one was especially sweet since they have known each other since middle school.  This day has been years in the making– from high school sweethearts to Nick’s successful career in the NFL. It was absolutely wonderful watching their two families interact since they’ve known each other so long. Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs. Easton! We wish you so much happiness in the years to come!

Emily + Nick are finally married (!), and we get to share her Bridals today! We met Emily in February for her bridal portraits at Duke Mansion, and we really lucked out with beautiful weather. North Carolina is known for it’s roller coster weather, and we ended up with a really mild winter day. We...

Sassafrass Mountain Engagement Session | Greenville SC Wedding Photographer

We’ve been looking forward to this session for 28 years– or at least Rachel has because it means her little brother is getting married! Jason + Mimi are getting married this winter in Greenville, SC, and we are thrilled (and a little out of practice) to be wedding guests at an event this year!

Mimi + Jason have been friends for a couple years with pretty much all of their friends rooting for them to get together. Mimi is the perfect girl for Jason, and we couldn’t be more happy to welcome her to our (crazy) family!

Elizabeth + Andrew are getting married this fall! We’re so excited to get to work with them and their families! While Elizabeth + Andrew were in town from the west coast in late February, we planned to do their engagement pictures that weekend and crossed our fingers for good weather. It’s not everyday that you can fly back home for a few hours for a photoshoot!

Meredith + Tyler are married! What a way to end our 2017 wedding season- from their wedding at Christ Church Charlotte to their reception at Myers Park Country Club– it was a beautiful day. Meredith + Tyler’s and their families were beyond a pleasure to photograph, and we had so many favorite photos from the day. Enjoy this beautiful Christmas wedding!

Charlotte City Club Wedding | Charlotte Wedding Photographer

Chris + Glenda married this past November with a wedding at St. Peter’s Catholic Church followed by a reception at the Charlotte City Club.  Their wedding ceremony was held in the late morning which gave us plenty of time to take portraits before the reception.  We LOVE having so much time in between the two!...

Carmel Country Club Bridal Portraits | Charlotte Wedding Photographer

Maribeth + Stuart were married this past weekend at Myers Park Methodist Church followed by a reception at Carmel Country Club which is where we took her bridals several weeks ago. We LOVE doing bridals, but it’s always the HARDEST to sit on the images until after the wedding. But we made it!  And the image below may just be one of my (Rachel) favorite images of 2017.  So, check out Maribeth’s bridals, and stay tuned for their wedding post because it’s coming soon!
